Extragalactic Astronomy & Astrophysics Going beyond the Milky Way allows us to study the formation and evolution of large-scale structure, as well as the assembly of stellar mass over time. The active research topics in our department in this area range from formation of galaxy clusters, the distribution of galaxies, star formation, dust destruction, and the interface between galaxies and intergalactic medium.
