The Declaration of Human Rights:

This site has the full text of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, adopted by UN General Assembly Resolution 217A (III) of 10 December, 1948. Here is a local copy of the UDHR.


Article 1: All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood.


Article 12: No one shall be subjected to arbitrary interference with his privacy, family, home or correspondence nor to attacks upon his honour and reputation. Everyone has the right to the protection of the law against such interference or attacks.


Article 24: Everyone has the right to rest and leisure, including reasonable limitation of working hours and periodic holidays with pay.
