Research Fields:
Vandervoort's field of research is dynamical astronomy, particularly stellar dynamics. His research has addressed the equilibrium of galaxies, stellar orbits in galaxies, the dynamics of spiral structure, and the oscillations and the stability of galaxies. His more recent work has concentrated on chaos in the pulsations of stars, in the oscillations of galaxies, and in the mergers of galaxies and on resonances in the pulsations of stars.
