Interstellar Matter -- From the Solar System to QSO Absorption-Line Systems

Most of my current and planned research involves the use of high resolution optical and UV spectra to gain a detailed understanding of the interstellar gas and dust in various local environments, and then to apply that knowledge to the interpretation of the metal absorption lines seen in the spectra of distant QSO's.
