This week's laboratory is a continuation of week 2 and a focus on external structure.
We begin by identifying the primary outer structures: sclera, iris, pupil and cornea. A short discussion on the pupil as a gateway for light leads to the conclusion that the iris plays a role in changing pupil size. The cornea and lens focus a source of light. We next investigate convex and concave lens types, that an image appears inverted when viewing outside the focal point of the convex lens, and that for a distant source, the image location for a given convex lens does not change.
