My research background is in near-field cosmology, where I have studied the distribution of matter in the local universe as well as the structure of our Galaxy.

In the past I have searched for miniature (dwarf) galaxies, which are believed to be the building blocks of objects like the Milky Way.

Currently I am using the Dark Energy Survey to locate rare stars called RR Lyrae that change in brightness over time. These stars can be used to very accurately map out the substructure of our Galaxy, giving insight into its past and future.
