The Family Night Program was developed for families to spend an afternoon or evening learning about the night sky and many scientific aspects of the world. We have made telescopes, filters, constellation outlines, learned about Antarctica, observed through the 24 inch telescope and worked with a SOFIA kit. This program was designed as learning and bonding time for students in grades 3-10 and their parents. It is our hope to continue this program in the future and for more people to sign up for the events. There will also be trips to different museums to see what they have to teach students that go with what they have learned here at Yerkes Observatory about the world around us.
