Yerkes Observatory is offering a Family Night Program for students, with a parent, in grades 4-8. The program will run after school at Yerkes Observatory.

Have you ever made a comet? Come to the Family Night at Yerkes Observatory and make a very cold fizzing comet model!
Thursday, March 15th, 2012, 6-8pm, Sun-Earth Connection!
What are the reasons for the seasons? Celebrate the upcoming Spring Equinox with activities to demonstrate the Earth's position relative to the Sun throughout the year.
Thursday, April 19th, 2012, 6-8pm, Sense the Invisible!
Detect the invisible Infrared part of the spectrum using detectors, filters on digital cameras, and the Yerkes Infrared Camera. We will email you a picture of yourself in the Infrared! You may want to bring along your own digital camera.
Thursday, May 10, 2012, 6-8pm, Our Solar System!
Do the Planets Walk! Explore how the motions of planets depend on their distance to the Sun. Learn about eclipses and how we will be able to see Venus cross in front of the Sun on June 5th!
