Click on the above image to scroll through 8 frames of this starfield as the asteroid moves across the field.  North is up and East is to the left. These are subframes of larger images.  The images were taken sequentially but not in equal intervals. The first two frames were each 20 seconds.  The last six frames were exposed for 30 seconds each.  This is a region in the constellation Capricorn.


HOU-IP Software Activity:  Using HOU image processing software, alternately add, then subtract these images together.  The images were aligned to the stars, shifted and cropped.   So, you will see the apparent motion of Asteroid 1997 XF11 over 45 minutes! You first need to download the asteroid 1997 XF11 images

Full frame images have a field of view of 35.98 by 24.66 arc minutes.
Theoretical Pixel Scale:
    1.45 arcseconds/pixel 1x1 binning
    2.90 arcseconds/pixel 2x2 binning
    4.35 arcseconds/pixel 3x3 binning
Recommended 2x2 binning of pixels
