Welcome to http://www.handsonuniverse.org/activities/Explorations/Asteroids/tracking.html
It is fun to look for and track known asteroids and comets. This page links you to image sets. In some cases, the objects are in the images. In other cases, the telescope may not have been pointed at exactly the right place in the sky to find the asteroid. Also included here are image sets of a patch of the sky. Use these to look for asteroids. If you find one, try to figure out if it is a known asteroid.
All these images were taken with the University of Chicago, Yerkes Observatory's 24 inch telescope (F/13.5) and the Near and Far Sciences for Illinois, SKYWatch, Apogee-CCD camera AP7p, 512 by 512, 24 micron pixels.
