Research
Konigl's research focuses on theoretical high-energy astrophysics and star formation. A basic theme of this research is the physics of accretion and outflow phenomena in compact astronomical objects, with an emphasis on the role of magnetic fields in mediating accretion and launching jets. The semi-analytic and numerical work is guided by, and applied to, observations of gamma-ray bursts, active galactic nuclei, newly formed stars, and protoplanetary systems.
