Future of existing CARA Projects
for External Advisors meeting March 1999
AST/RO, VIPER & DASI will remain viable scientific projects beyond CARA
- AST/RO

- maintain full complement of receivers
- open to entire community
- proposals completely peer reviewed and ranked
- shift to 100% external membership of time allocation committee
- VIPER

- continue with ACBAR; SZ effect and CMB
anisotropy and polarization
- large scale Galactic surveys (SPARO, others)
- high frequency complement to DASI
- DASI
-
- upgrade to w-band MMIC receivers (~90 GHz)
- simultaneous full 4-stokes parameters CMB obs.
- Low frequency complement to VIPER
Ballpark budget >$2M/year
