Pole News-

Still at Pole — Dave Pernic, Al Harper At McMurdo — Joe Rottman
  1. AST/RO — still has some alignment problems
  2. It was discovered at McMurdo that the pump out valve on the 1000 liter dewar was open while they were transporting the helium. Once the value was closed they discovered some additional leaks around the valve and these leaks have been repaired. The 3000 liter dewar was good at the end of last season and no additional problems are expected.

Helium should be at the Pole approx. 2 days before Pole closing.

Other-

During the March meeting at Yerkes the helium usage will be decided. At this point Bob Pernic is still planning on using the 3000 liter dewar for AST/RO and the 1000 liter dewar for SPARO.

Please remember to submit year 10 budgets to Nancy on or before February 18th.
