Help Us Buy a CCD Camera

The Ryerson Astronomical Society is a student-run organization with a 45 year history of advanced amateur astronomy and public outreach. Our observatory, located atop the University of Chicago's Ryerson Physical Laboratory, frequently enjoys sub-arcsecond seeing in our six-inch refractor and ten-inch Newtonian reflector.

We feel that a CCD camera would allow us to record excellent, high resolution views of the planets and greatly extend our views of deep sky objects. We are presently collecting money into a fund to buy a CCD camera, and would appreciate any donation.

If you would like to make a donation, make checks payable to The University of Chicago and mail to:

We would also welcome donations of equipment, especially old CCD or video cameras and computer hardware. For more information, contact Dean W. Armstrong at (773) 702-3147 or <dean+ras@uchicago.edu>.

All donations are tax deductible.
